Review:

I recently saw Fractured and was overall pleased with the Netflix original film. It was a mystery/thriller that reveals how powerful a person’s mind can truly be. The script is very believable as a story because it illustrates real life common incidents that could happen to anyone.

The opening of the movie begins with a couple stopping at a nearby gas station, where their 6-year old daughter fell and fractured her arm. Her father, Ray, attempts to catch her but fails to do so and while panicking her mother cried in fear of what happened to her child.

The couple rushes their child to a hospital. Upon arrival, the father noticed some strange things happening that couldn’t be explained. Unexpectedly, there was no trace of the wife and daughter being there. This film fits with a previously produced movie off Fractured. Both have the same concept and plot but in contrast this Netflix film was told in a very unique way.

Throughout the movie the director, Brad Anderson, achieved his purpose to help viewers understand that everything is not what it seems. Anderson successfully made the film seem realistic and his purpose meaningful to his audience.

The acting, writing and music effective are powerful in most scenes and caught my attention with trying to understand the plot twist of this movie. The visual and sound effects played a vital role with illustrating the story, especially the gas station scene.

Some of the movie’s weaknesses was being misleading during certain scenes while trying to understand whether if Ray’s mind was in reality, experiencing flashbacks or both. Although it was unclear to why certain things where happening to him, the film constantly keeps you guessing the end results of what supposedly happen to his family.

Overall, this movie was very interesting because it caught my attention with using little details to reveal the truth about what happen to his family. At the beginning, I was convinced that hospital was holding his family hostage but as the movie progressed things began to be misunderstanding.

I would recommend this movie to others due to the fact that we as humans don’t want to face the harsh realities of certain situations so by creating our own delusion of things can help us escape from the truth.

Be prepared for the unexpected with this Netflix film. It was definitely twisted and keeps you guessing throughout the duration of the movie. I was lost for words at the ending, facing the harsh realities of things are not only difficult, but mind-blowing and shocking as well.
