THE PROPOSAL OF NEW BILLS

February 2, 2021, Montgomery, Ala.- Today is the first day of the opening session of the 2021 Alabama Legislature at the Alabama State House. Lawmakers are working diligently with budgets, casinos, and the proposal of new bills.
Tashina Morris, District 26 Representative, is in process of introductions new bills that will benefit the state of Alabama. One bill, in particular, The “Bond Bill” mentions the amount on bonds for criminal who commit murder. She is suggesting to raise the amount to the standard amount of drug charges. Morris believes that the bond of $30,000-$150,000 is very low for someone who is in prison for that kind of felony.
During the session, Alabama State Senators introduced proposals that will help with the development of multiple committees for different areas involving education, mental health, prison system, etc.
Rolanda Hollis, District 58 Representative, is proposing several bills to the Senate. One bill, in particular, is the “Natural Hair Bill.” Hollis wants to create an environment to where women can express themselves fully, especially with their hair. The bill is proposing that women are to not be discriminated because of their natural hair state in any work field, university, or any public area. Hollis wants to produce bills that will benefit of people.
