Is it all worth it? Should a person follow their passion or just have some regular 8-hour shift job? This topic will be discussing the reasons to why a person should go for what they want out life and have no regrets about the choice he or she makes.
In the editorial, the speaker mention how following your passion can be misleading and often be mistaken with having the abilities to work in something that you are passionate about. It’s the dirty truth that most people follow their passion instead of going after opportunities that can help them succeed.
On the other hand, anyone with a vision and purpose in life should follow their dreams. You only live once so you have to make it count. Someone can show passion towards their future endeavors and can achieve their goals to earn their dream jobs.
One reason is because life is too short to have what-if’s and having regrets in your life. According to Wanderlust Worker,“It’s fragile and its delicate. It’s here one moment, then gone the next. It’s never okay to just settle because we aren’t here for a long time. As humans, we have a shelf-life. And although our energy will live and carry on, we are only physically here for a brief period.”
Another reason is because it gives you a sense of purpose. Wanderlust Worker stated, “Following your passion in life gives you a sense of purpose to exist in this world. It also helps to instill something bigger and greater than just yourself. As long as what you’re pursuing moves beyond just the selfish reasons and really attempts to contribute value to the world, it will help you fulfill something far greater than you could ever imagine.”
For example, when you follow your passion in life, you are happier overall. You’re more sated with yourself and the decisions that you make, and not weighed down by the common stressors that come along with not doing what you love. Overall, you feel more uplifted and have a far greater peace of mind.
No one should not be told to not follow their passion and chase after their dreams because with hard work and effort, you can achieve anything in life. The sky is the limit and a person should have the chance to do the impossible.
To solve this issue, more career opportunities should be offer to people of all ages. It’s never too late to achieve your goals because you’re given only one life and you should live to the fullest.
In conclusion, society needs to understand that dreams can manifest into reality for those who are passionate in their careers. This can help you to not lose sight to what’s truly important which is working in a career that you love and that makes you happy.
